Telehealth: Online Mental & Behavioral Health Counseling
Telehealth
I offer friendly and non-judgmental online therapy via the HIPPA compliant platform SimplePractice. To participate in this form of health counseling you will need to have access to a phone, computer, or tablet that has a camera and video conferencing ability. If you are looking for in-person services, please see Walk & Talk Therapy.
My Costs
I currently do not accept insurance. I can, however, provide you with an invoice so that you can try to get reimbursement through your insurance provider. I offer a sliding scale that ranges from 45 dollars to 85 dollars per hour. The lower end is close to what one would pay as a copay.
Duration of Health Counseling
The duration of health counseling really depends on the unique challenges you face. By keeping a focus on solutions and on consistently moving forward towards better health, not dwelling on problems and the past, I’ll do my best to keep health counseling as short as possible. For some people this may mean a single session; for others, six or more. The first session usually runs 60-90 minutes (charged as one hour) and subsequent sessions run 50 minutes (charged as one hour), unless you request longer sessions.
Scope of Practice
I can help people with most health and psychological challenges; however, working with those in immediate crisis or who have eating disorders is beyond my current scope of practice. If you are in immediate distress, please call one of the following 24-hour services listed below:
Deschutes County 24-hour Crisis Phone Line – (541) 322-7500 ext. 9
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline – (800) 273- 8255
